We cover the licensing cost. You bring the work ethic.
There aren't enough licensed professionals in this country to bring financial education to every family that needs it. Someone has to sit at those kitchen tables — and most of the people best suited to it are already working alongside families in another profession. This is a structured, mentored path to a Texas Life & Health license, designed for exactly those people.
What we cover
Exam fees, fingerprinting, the state application and your study materials. In-person classroom training here in Houston. Carrier appointments with multiple providers, so you're never limited to one company's shelf.
What you keep
Your business is yours. Commissions are paid to you by the carrier and vest immediately — including renewals, whether you stay with us or not. We don't hold your book hostage, and we'll put that in writing before you write your first case.
How you actually get paid
Carriers advance up to nine months of first-year commission at issue. That advance is a loan against premium not yet collected — if the policy lapses early, it's charged back, typically 100% in the first six months. This is the part that blindsides new agents. We explain it before you sell anything, not after.
What it isn't
Employment. This is a licensing and training path for people building an independent, commission-based practice — most often part-time, alongside work they already do. Nobody here draws a salary from us and we won't imply otherwise.
Most people who start this do not finish it
You will not find these numbers on a recruiting page anywhere else in this industry. We're putting them on ours, because you deserve to make this decision with your eyes open — and because anyone unwilling to show you the base rate is hoping you won't look it up.
Most of our best people didn't start from zero
They added a license to a client base and a skill set they already had. If you sit across from families and money already, the next question they ask is the one this license lets you answer.
Tax professionals
You see the whole financial picture once a year, with documents, under a duty of care. Nobody is better positioned — and our own affiliated tax practice means we understand your calendar, your compliance obligations, and the §7216 rules that govern what you can and can't do with a client's return information.
Realtors
You're with families at the biggest financial commitment of their lives. A license lets you serve the question that comes right after "congratulations."
Health & ACA agents
You have the clients and the compliance instincts. Adding life licensure rounds out what you can responsibly offer them.
Career changers
No financial background required. The 90 days exist precisely to build one, with structure and a mentor beside you.
Licensed, appointed, trained, supported
Days 1–30 · Get licensed
Structured study plan and all materials. We cover the exam, fingerprint and state application fees. You study and sit the Texas Life & Health exam.
Days 31–60 · Get trained
In-person classroom training in Houston, plus appointments with multiple carriers. You'll also learn to run the planning tools we build in-house — concepts most agents in this market cannot illustrate at all.
Days 61–90 · Get experience
Real appointments alongside experienced professionals, then help laying the foundation of your own practice. The mentorship doesn't end at day 90 — that's when it starts mattering.
Info sessions are free, and we prefer skeptics
Bring the difficult ones. How do you actually get paid. What does the vesting agreement say. How many people who started last year are still writing business. What happens if I fail the exam. We would rather answer all of that in a room than have you find out later.
The GX Training Program is a licensing and training program, not an offer of employment. Completion requires satisfying all applicable state licensing requirements. Commissions are paid by the issuing carrier and are subject to that carrier’s advance and chargeback terms, disclosed in writing before any business is submitted. Success as an independent licensed professional depends on individual effort, licensing outcomes and market conditions. We make no representations about income or lifestyle, and we'd encourage you to be skeptical of anyone who does. Retention and pass-rate figures shown are published industry statistics for the life insurance profession generally, not results of this program.
